The new system is called Low Pressure Hot Water Extraction. The reasoning behind using the new system is as easy as this: Would you wash your clothes by spraying water on them and trying to suck out all of the dirt?  Of course not, you would use hot water and soap and let the washing machine slosh them around to loosen the dirt.

What does the Low Pressure Hot Water Extraction system involve?

First, small amounts of hot cleaning solution are shot into the carpet.  Next, gentle agitation is used to loosen all of the dirt, pollen, and other pollutants from the fibers of your carpet. Finally the cleaning solution and all of the dirt is sucked into a recovery tank for easy removal from your home.

Why is Low Pressure Hot Water Extraction so different from the old method of cleaning carpets

The old method was to spray a huge amount of water onto your carpet hoping that high pressure would do all of the cleaning. The water was then immediately sucked out of the carpet. This system of carpet cleaning has two major drawbacks.  The first is the high pressure actually drives a lot of the dirt right through the carpet into the pad.  The second is that so much water is used that the backing of the carpet and sometimes even the pad underneath gets soaked.  Trapped water leads to mold, mildew, and bacteria. When using the Low Pressure Hot Water Extraction system the drying time goes from days to hours.
